Msizi Africa

Toby Brown: Man or Ironman?

In precisely one month’s time, my University friend Rob Waddelow and I, shall be attempting to complete an Ironman 70.3 race on a notoriously grueling course in Oahu, Hawaii.

This race includes an appetizing 1.5m swim in the ocean for starters, a 56 mile bike ride for a wholesome main and a half marathon for desert…mmmm delicious.

We’re doing all of this not only to gain a (hopefully) legendary fable to drown your ears with at bars throughout the country for many years to come but also to raise money for a very specific charity called Msizi Africa which is run by a University friend called Lucy Caslon. Full details of this are below on the link but in brief what I would love from you is a few pounds/dollars to help provide food, water, shelter and education to African Children who are in desperate need of our help. A simple message from the Msizi website is below:

A hungry child can’t learn.  A hungry child will choose finding food over attending school.  It only costs 28p per day to feed a child – if you feed that child, they will stay in school, benefit from their education and escape from the cycle of poverty and dependency.  Msizi Africa ran a school feeding programme in Zambia for two years – children came to school, signed the register of attendance in the morning and at lunchtime were given a hot meal.  In the first week, school attendance rose from 65% to 95%.  We feed over 1,000 children and the food we give them encourages them to stay in school – they’re all enrolled in education and doing well.

So, please sponsor Rob and I on this link below:

Very Best,

Toby xx
