Marketing and Events Assistant

Job title: Marketing and Events Assistant

Reporting to: Emily South (Community Events and Marketing Manager) and the Company Directors

Salary: £22,296 - £24,032 per annum based on experience

Office & Working Hours:

  • 08:30 – 18:00 Monday
  • 09:00 – 18:00 Tuesday – Friday

  • Some evenings and weekends

 

Purpose of the position:

Our award-winning agency truly loves and believes in our neighbourhood – it matters. We invest time, money and resources in our community events programme to help our corner of London thrive, but also to give us the opportunity to meet and mingle with our neighbours, it’s our main marketing tool. 

The purpose of this role is to provide proactive communications, marketing and events support, advance tlc’s profile, reputation and effective engagement with the local community.

The work of yourself, alongside the Events and Marketing Manager, will support the wider team to achieve agreed engagement targets through the delivery and promotion of a range of events, communications and public relations activities designed to:

  • champion the human connection within our thriving communities through exceptional contribution
  • positively promote and raise awareness of tlc Estate Agents
  • generate new leads for the property departments of the business
  • support staff and internal communications to share positive experience across tlc

 

Ideal Responsibilities & Duties 

  • Implementing marketing and brand awareness projects in line with the strategy set out by the Events and Marketing Manager
  • Deliver design work for campaign and event projects and manage the distribution of all print material
  • Coordinate the creation and scheduling of regular social media content across multiple channels: Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Leading on the delivery of our email campaigns to market events, company initiatives and departmental campaigns
  • Compose and post online content to our website and social media accounts with the consideration of SEO performance
  • Write marketing literature (brochures, press releases etc) to augment the company’s presence in the market
  • Conduct market research to ensure our digital and physical campaigns are in line with current trends and consumer desires
  • Assist the Events and Marketing Manager in realising our full schedule of community events - from booking refreshments and assisting with setup to collecting feedback from attendees
  • Be ready to roll up your sleeves, get stuck in and attend all community events to run them together with the events team
  • Ensure all activities are photographed or videoed, and files saved appropriately with usage rights GDPR
  • Working with the team to publicise the events calendar through a variety of digital and physical channels
  • Assist with getting the whole TLC team excited and involved by communicating event details and keeping everyone inspired and motivated for the brand, vision and community efforts of tlc
  • Keeping on top of the daily marketing and data administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities, such as monitoring the events email inbox, keeping track of social media engagement and competitions and updating the website

Work experience and Skills 

  • Demonstrable experience of working in both a hands on events position and also within a marketing environment
  • Clear understanding and experience of marketing, PR relations and social media execution 
  • A proven ability to be creative and pro-active to suggest and develop new ideas
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills 
  • Good IT skills including use of MS Office with a desirable ability to use Adobe Suite, CMS tools and Video editing software
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills: ability to prioritise, work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines
  • Excellent skills in the use of English, ideally with an eye for detail and experience of copywriting, editing and proofreading
  • Knowledge of and networked in the West London area  
  • Relevant educational experience in a relevant field is a strong advantage
  • Full UK Driving Licence is desirable

A can-do attitude, someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in - we are not just the sponsors of an event, we get involved and produce events start to finish which means setting up gazebos, serving drinks and collecting rubbish 

Pro-active and demonstrating initiative – we love to get it done, and make things happen so we need someone with a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude 

Ability to work well under pressure and can problem solve – pulling it out of the bag when it matters requires a cool head, a can do attitude and often a big smile 

Someone who loves the detail – the little things matter. You’ll take time and care whether it’s writing a beautiful piece of copy, creating a gorgeous event flyer or ensuring the social media figures are ready for presentation

Super social media & technology savvy – knowing your snapchat from your TikTok and your MP3 from your HDMI is key. Having a natural aptitude for using different platforms and the knowledge of to how to broadcast inspirational content is something that will be a real benefit

Team-player – this is essential as we judge ourselves as a unit and our teamwork and team spirit is key to our success
