Block Team Leader

What is your role at tlc?

Block Team Leader

What is your background?

I started my postgraduate career working in sound for television, and after a few years decided I wanted a new challenge so opportunistically took a role working in the PBSA (purpose built student accommodation) sector, managing student accommodation blocks in London. I really enjoyed this position - I gained great satisfaction in helping the newly arrived students feel safe and secure while maintaining the upkeep of the building,  providing the best platform for them to achieve their desired grades, while making sure they had fun at the same time! After 6 years, I made the adjacent move into management of residential properties, and was able to transfer the key skills I had learned into the world of Block Management!

What values drive you?

Guided by the principles of compassion and integrity, I'm driven by what can be achieved within society when we collectively work for a shared goal.

What are your objectives for tlc over the next 12 months?

To get my AIRPM qualifications. To train new starters and to share best practice to help our team develop and reach its full potential.

What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?

I play in a 7-a-side league every Wednesday evening with my friends. We’ve been going for 8 years now and just recently won the league! Otherwise I am a big music fan and in the summer attend music festivals in the UK and across Europe when I can.

What is your favourite song?

This answer changes on a regular basis but at time of writing - The Clash – Train in Vain

What is one thing that might surprise people about you?

I wrote a book during lockdown! I still need to edit it, but I have 124 A4 pages sitting saved on my computer waiting to become the next best seller!

If you could be any animal, what would you be?

Koala – Chilling all day munching on eucalyptus!

What are three things on your bucket list?

  1. To drive across Japan. I’ve been twice before but every time I leave I wish I was staying for longer

  2. Get my book published

  3. To see Crystal Palace play in Europe
