Music for a Summer’s Evening at Opera Holland Park

Set within the leafy surroundings of Holland Park, Music for a Summer’s Evening offers an opportunity to experience live classical music in one of Kensington’s most distinctive cultural settings.

For this special summer concert, the City of London Sinfonia joins Opera Holland Park for an evening devoted to the serenade: music traditionally written for outdoor gatherings, light evenings, celebrations and shared occasions.

The repertoire includes Mozart’s lively Divertimento in D, Elgar’s graceful Serenade for Strings, Holst’s energetic St Paul’s Suite and Tchaikovsky’s richly expressive Serenade for Strings.

There is no dress code, and visitors do not need any previous knowledge of orchestral music. The evening has been designed as a relaxed and welcoming introduction to classical performance, as well as an atmospheric occasion for regular concertgoers.

Opera Holland Park’s open-sided theatre sits within the grounds of Holland Park, surrounded by gardens, woodland and the historic remains of Holland House.
