The Chelsea Heritage Quarter proudly presents the seventh edition of the Chelsea History Festival, running from Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 September 2025. This annual celebration of history and heritage brings the past to life through an immersive programme of talks, tours, concerts and exhibitions designed to inspire and entertain.

Across five days, visitors can enjoy over 80 events led by world-renowned historians, authors and cultural voices. Highlights of the 2025 programme include Emily Maitlis reflecting on memoirs of the Second World War, Greg Jenner bringing history to life with humour, Dermot Turing uncovering the overlooked women codebreakers, Simon Jenkins exploring Britain’s architecture, Paula Akpan telling the stories of African queens and warriors, and Hanna Diamond revealing the remarkable wartime intelligence work of Josephine Baker.

In addition to headline talks, the festival offers family-friendly walking tours, garden visits, exhibitions, and free entry to Chelsea Physic Garden across the weekend. Music lovers can enjoy a special concert from the Royal Hospital Chapel Choir, performing English church anthems dating back to the 1700s.

New for 2025, visitors can also experience two exclusive exhibitions, including Lost and Found in Hong Kong: The Unsung Chinese Heroes of D-Day at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

The festival takes place across three iconic venues: Chelsea Physic Garden, the National Army Museum, and the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Sponsored by Cadogan and supported by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the Chelsea History Festival continues to shine a spotlight on the area’s unique role in shaping London and Britain.
